UPDATE: We are currently OPEN for volunteer positions. Read more about our volunteer opportunities below.
*Note: All opportunities are virtual and are open to high school students across the world
We are currently taking high school volunteers from across the world to volunteer with us. We are looking for high school students that are passionate about raising awareness of mental health issues and are ready to work in a team with high school students from across the world. If you sign up to volunteer with us, you will receive monthly emails with different projects that you can work on each month. Each project will have a different leader who will coordinate with the project teams and will assign tasks and schedule zoom meetings. The projects will be flexible and you can work on multiple at a time and change groups each month if you want. You can also lead a project if you have any ideas and we will work with you to get it started. If you are a project leader, you can also work in other projects as well. So far, our current projects that we have ready are making social media posts, writing podcast scripts, and working on art and design projects for fundraising purposes. We are also looking for people who would be interested in starting their own MIST Chapters (high school clubs) in their schools or outside of school. Please email [email protected]with any questions.

Current Projects
Podcast Script Writing (Project Director: Nina Hamilton, [email protected]): In our podcast writing meetings, we plan out the episode of our podcast for our host, Nivi. Instead of writing a full out script, we usually brainstorm questions and things to get the conversation flowing since we want the podcast to be a conversation between the host and the guests, instead of it being super scripted! Our meetings aren't very long, usually between 30 minutes - 1 hour, and we spend the time brainstorming and refining the script/ideas for the next podcast.
Social Media (Project Director: Selina Balci, [email protected]): In our social media meetings, we discuss ways to promote mental health awareness through our organization's page on social media, which includes coming up with post and story ideas for Instagram. Each volunteer will then be able to choose whichever task they would like to complete. Our meetings are relatively short, about half an hour, but there will be a fair amount of independent work time required for digital design.
Art Fundraising (Project Director: Maanvi Aggarwal, [email protected]): We will be designing more stickers for MIST. Hopefully, we will be setting up a Redbubble sometime soon and will be able to sell our designs on different items. A charity event may be store as well, especially during these times of the pandemic.
Webinar (Project Directors: Saahas Ganesh, [email protected] ; Aashi Kasotia, [email protected]; Nell Williams, [email protected]): This webinar will cover how online school can negatively affect mental health illnesses such as depression, anxiety disorders, and bipolar disorders. We will also discuss what measures we can take to prevent mental health disorders and stay emotionally healthy. The meetings will cover making the presentation, doing research on the topic, and preparing activities to encourage participation. They will most likely take place on Sundays at 5pm.
